Home to Monmouth Park Racetrack and bordered by the Shrewsbury River — a quiet, family-oriented borough adjacent to the former Fort Monmouth site.
Oceanport is one of those small Monmouth boroughs that punches above its weight on character. About 5,800 residents in roughly 4 square miles, anchored by Monmouth Park Racetrack and bordered by the Shrewsbury River. The borough has a quiet, settled feel — most residents have lived here for years, and exterior projects tend to be long-term investments rather than quick flips.
The borough's housing stock is mostly mid-century — capes, ranches, and bi-levels built in the 1940s through 1970s, plus some older colonials closer to the river and newer construction near the former Fort Monmouth site. Most of our Oceanport projects are vinyl-to-Hardie upgrades on the mid-century homes, paired with new architectural shingles and seamless gutters.
Oceanport's location means a mixed weather exposure. The borough is close enough to Long Branch that occasional salt-driven wind reaches the eastern neighborhoods, but the Shrewsbury River and the inland geography provide some shelter from direct ocean conditions. We default to James Hardie fiber cement on all Oceanport re-sides because it handles the mixed environment better than vinyl over a 30-year horizon.
The former Fort Monmouth area on the borough's eastern side is seeing significant redevelopment, and we've worked on several of the renovated and newly-built homes in that section. These projects often involve coordinating with the broader redevelopment — material standards, color coordination with neighboring properties, and timing around other construction in the area.
Our consultative approach means we listen first, then recommend the right materials and scope for your home — not the most expensive package. Combined with skilled crews and a 5.0-star track record, that's why so many Oceanport homeowners choose Fairway Exteriors.

Oceanport's mixed exposure — close enough to Long Branch for occasional salt air, plus river-influenced humidity — is exactly where vinyl underperforms over a 30-year horizon. James Hardie fiber cement holds factory ColorPlus through the mixed environment, won't chalk or warp, and delivers a 30-year manufacturer warranty when installed correctly.
Yes — we've handled siding, roofing, and gutter work on multiple homes in the Fort Monmouth redevelopment area. We coordinate with broader redevelopment standards, color match neighboring properties when appropriate, and time work to fit around other ongoing construction in the area.
Oceanport sits in central Monmouth's storm path. We install 130 mph wind-rated GAF or Owens Corning architectural shingles, sealed ridge cap, ice-and-water shield extending well past the eaves, and 6-inch K-style gutters with oversized 3x4 downspouts. Standard practice for the region.
A few of the newer Fort Monmouth redevelopment sections have design coordination requirements. We work with homeowners on color and material selection within those guidelines and submit any required documentation. Most of the older borough is straightforward — material choice is the homeowner's call.
